Pucklechurch Social Club had their annual match here at Windmill and what a good day it was.
In first place with 37lb 12oz was John Clark. John fished a long pole to the island from peg 25.
In second place was Bob Inker (Pucklechurch Angling Club) also fishing a long pole to the island. From peg 23 Bob landed 36lb 12oz. He also cracked a section of his pole. Was it on a good fish? I will ask him when I next see him.
Third was Jeff Agus (Pucklechurch Angling Club) with 36lb 4oz from peg 9 fishing the margins. Jeff landed one of our big carp weighing in at 10lb 8oz. Well done Jeff.
In fourth place was Richard Savage (Pucklechurch Angling Club)fishing close in and in deep water, Richard netted 17lb.
Fifth was Dave Webb (Pucklechurch Angling Club) on peg 3. After a little time without a bite Dave sprayed some maggots around his float and soon hooked into some carp landing a total of 14lb 10oz.
Barry Elson (Pucklechurch Angling Club) came sixth with 5lb 8oz from peg 6 with two good carp.
Brian Elson won the silvers with 4lb. Well done Brian.
One of the anglers left his rod out while visiting the loo and returned to find a big fish on with the top section of his pole missing and taken under by the fish. This is why it is so important to remain with your pole or rod when cast.
All in all a great day was had by all.
